Delores Kosanke

Delores Kosanke

Delores was born in Milwaukee to her beloved parents, Jack and Loretta Seaman. She graduated from St. Agnes Grade School before moving with her family who relocated to Pewaukee in 1944 to open Seaman’s Recreation on Pewaukee Lake. She was a graduate of Pewaukee High School and obtained an associate degree in secretarial sciences from SMÌìµØÂÛ̳ Technical College.

Delores enjoyed and took great pride in her subsequent work as a secretary at Northwestern Mutual Insurance and later at SMÌìµØÂÛ̳ County Technical College. In Pewaukee she met Jim, who would become her beloved husband of 63 years; they married at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in 1954. During her early married years, she enjoyed the life of an army reservist’s wife, accompanying Jim to summer duty at Virginia Beach.

Once children were on the horizon, she happily put aside her career to become a fully devoted and loving mother to James, John (Michele) Kosanke, Jill (Kamran) Faterioun, Jacqueline, Jeffry (Lori) Kosanke and Jeanine (Joseph) Dable. She was the kindest and most  loving of grandmothers to 10 grandchildren: Alison (Adam) Ward, Maryam (Alex) James, Eliott (Laura) Kosanke, Marjan Faterioun, Candice Kosanke, Nicole Kosanke, Sara Faterioun, Jessica Dable, Zachariah Faterioun and Julia Dable. She was a loving great-grandmother to Amelia, Addison, Simon, and Sophie.

She truly loved the home that she helped to design in Pewaukee and was happiest there, surrounded by her loving family. Delores, a devoted Catholic, was an enduring member of St. Mary’s parish and an active volunteer at both church and school functions.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James; parents; mother-in-law, Mildred; beloved children Jim and Jackie; brother Jack; sister-in-law Bernice; and many relatives from her extended family - all of whom she looked forward to meeting again. She was truly the matriarch and guiding light of her family. The kindest of souls, most loving mother, grandmother, wife, and friend to all - she is loved and will be missed by all who knew her.

Delores passed into God’s loving care on September 10, 2024 at the age of 93. The family’s gratitude is given to Kirkland Crossings and Agrace Hospice for their kindness, care and support.

Visitation will be Friday, September 27, at Queen of Apostles Catholic Church, N35-W23360 Capitol Drive, City of Pewaukee, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., and again on Saturday, September 28, from 11 a.m. until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 12 noon.
