ELM GROVE 鈥 Healthy eating doesn鈥檛 have to be boring and flavorless, as Nona clearly shows with its a莽a铆 smoothie bowls and variety of smoothies that fall into such categories as keto/low carb, cold brew-infused, all-fruit and superfood.
A second Nona location is having a soft opening in Elm Grove on Monday at 13320 Watertown Plank Road. The soft opening will last through Wednesday, but whether a person walks through the doors on day one or day 100, Seth Knapp wants them to experience a "warm, upbeat and inviting environment and atmosphere."
The first Nona location is in Pewaukee at 1350 Capitol Dr., Suite 6. Both locations will offer the same menu, but the hours are different. They鈥檒l be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the weekends in Elm Grove. But during the soft opening, the Elm Grove location will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and each day of the soft opening the first 100 orders will be free (limitations apply). Normal hours will start Thursday.
In Pewaukee, the store鈥檚 hours are 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday.
"We always go all out for our seasonal ends, and they are extremely popular and always anticipated. Some of our most popular smoothies are the Funky Monkey, Keto PB Cup, Green Ginger Zinger and A莽a铆 Honey Berry."
In addition to a莽a铆 smoothie bowls, Nona also sells coffee. There鈥檚 French press coffee and cold brew. And then your not average cup of Joe, like the Bulletproof Coffee, made from French press with grass-fed butter and Bulletproof Brain Octane MCT oil.
One of the most popular items on the menu, Knapp said, is the Decadent A莽a铆 Bowl.
"We鈥檝e been told by several customers that our Decadent A莽a铆 Bowl is the best thing they鈥檝e ever tasted in their lives," he said.
That bowl contains Brazilian a莽a铆, cacao, raspberries, strawberries, fair trade dark chocolate and whey protein. It鈥檚 then topped with an ancient grain gluten-free chocolate peanut butter granola, banana slices, cacao nibs, peanut butter, freeze-dried strawberries, chia seeds and a drizzle of raw honey.
For people who want to feel like a billion dollars, there鈥檚 the Billion Dollar Smoothie, listed for $29.99 for 32 ounces and containing whey isolate protein, banana, mixed berries, and enhanced with 30-plus different superfoods.
As you might suspect based on the Nona menu, health is important to the owners.
"We are both health and wellness enthusiasts, and taking care of our health plays a major role in our everyday lives, and we set out to create the business that we wanted, but didn鈥檛 yet exist. A brand focused on convenience items that meet all the needs of those trying to live a healthier lifestyle," Knapp said. A third Nona location will be opening in Delafield in the fall.
