Windows will be included in the design to allow for more light and enhanced ventilation. A glass door will separate the existing second floor space from the addition.

MetalTek

MetalTek is proposing a new Executive Office Center for MetalTek at the corner of West Moreland Boulevard and East St. Paul Avenue. The new 8,057-square-foot building will create a new executive building with offices and conference rooms. The building would be at the north end of the site and the parking lot to the south. The office space consists of a mix of materials, including Cream City brick on the fa莽ade facing St. Paul Avenue with arched windows and a darker brick fa莽ade facing the Fox River and Frame Park with more modern rectangular windows. Patio space would also be included in order to take advantage of the view of the river and park.

The building will house approximately 15-20 employees and will serve as the new board room for the company. Based on city code approximately 50 parking spaces would need to be provided for the development, however, MetalTek is proposing 29 parking spaces to limit the amount of access parking and add landscaping to the site. In March, representatives of the metal casting manufacturer received favorable comments from the commission on its conceptual plans to remove the existing buildings on the properties and to construct a new executive office center and parking lot in their place.

Trinity Lutheran Church

The Commission will review the final site plan for Trinity Lutheran Church, 1052 White Rock Ave.

The proposal includes the removal of a house at the southwest end of the site along with grading work and a proposed retaining wall to create a new play area. Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church owns the adjacent house at 1025 Baxter St., immediately to the south of the church and school parking lot, as well as the vacant property next door.

They plan to demolish the house and turn it and the adjacent property into green space which will be used as a play area for students at the school. They also plan to resurface the parking lots for the entire church and school campus, and add an ADA entrance to the church building. After the house is demolished, the lot will be leveled and a retaining wall added with a four foot vinyl fence around the perimeter to provide a safe play space. The church hopes to start on this project after school is done in order to complete it by the end of summer break.
